I can't help with the luggage. But I'm curious what makes someone buy a Fat Bob now we've bikes like the Xdiavel and Triumph's Rocket?

Xdiavel and Triumph Rocket are the reasons someone buys the Fat Bob.

I'm genuinely curious: what do you mean?

I cannot fathom what a Fat Bob could do better than an Xdiavel or Triumph Rocket confused But then I've never ridden a Fat Bob, so what would I know?

Pilion comfort ....clunkyness of a harley.....and the looks of the bike got the thumbs up from me.....all that power of the other bikes you mention would be wasted on a cruiser.

Ah ha! Now it makes sense. The Ducati's pillion seat doesn't look somewhere to perch all day! Maybe it suits svelte Italian pillions?

Elaborate on what ? The Harley is a better bike. Both the bikes you have mentioned are as ugly as sin.

In the respect that I like them better. That's all that matters really isn't it.?

Triumph build quality is pretty poor imo and I wouldn't trust a Ducati to get me home.

That and they are as ugly as sin. The HD is a better bike.

Getting offended won't change things lol.

Ex Harley rider and current x diavel owner here...

The exhaust is a problem with the fat bob - do you still have the standard one fitted? Have you thought about the sissy bar with luggage rack? That might be sufficient for a weekend pack and the misses.

Slightly off topic but when choosing my xdiavel I really wanted to stay with HD, I’m lucky enough to base my motorcycle purchases on how a bike makes me feel and how they look. I rode the Ducati and felt I was on a modern performance machine, the Harley is as “authentic” as it gets but... I just wish they where priced even slightly competitively and more suitable for the UK.

I had to have my old HD fenders powder coated, bolts changed to S/s, PPF on the tank - just so it didn’t crumble into dust after its 4th winter. I still want one, but as a only bike, I’m not sure unless you love cleaning...

Stock exhaust...but do have a sissy bar and rack.....I have seen many options for bags.....but would like a bit more space.....possibly some saddle bags as well might be useful me thinks.

I used a LOMO soft back on the rack and had HD leather panniers but to be honest there are better soft options. Kriega throw-overs for one.

As for exhausts, I had V&H and they did not impress me one bit. Very poor quality. And too loud for touring. Fine for club blasts etc but what a drone after a little while.

Do Indian make anything similar? There's got to be a reason for them taking Harley's market share.

They don't really take that much of a share. I think I've seen 2 Indians on the road in the last few years.

You seem very defensive of the HD brand... are you invested in some way??

I'd love a Harley, thankfully there's a dealer near me, so when I feel the urge, I pop in for a test ride...an hour or so every year is good fun...

Didn't look that way around when I read it....

Back to the bike though, that Fat bob thingy looks alright to me.

I mean relatively speaking.
