ive finally sorted the flip plate out , made a bracket and got it fitted its not a silly size either and can be read from quite a distance (when it's not flipped )

Hi BB ive had a word with the local plod and providing i dont use it in a public place he hasnt got a problem with it , the letters are 2" high so not stupidly small , you wire it up to a switched live ie comes on with the ignition there is a little switch that sits on the handle bars to flip it and an led to let you know when its down it resets to normal ie reg showing if you switch the bike off with the plate down .

So how do i trim the mudflap off then BB ? i didnt want to cut the bike about but there is a lot of flap showing

I cut mine using a junior hacksaw,also wanted to be able to put full size one back if needed to so i cut mine about 1cm below the bolt holes.

No mate missed it what with fitting the plate and rebuilding the ped in the background , for the splashguard behind the front wheel you have to dismantle the front end and steering then bearings drop everywhere what fun so the speedfight nearly got a speedyslap

yep its all back together now got the parts from a peugot scooter dealer in mooredown in bournemouth , they are one of the best dealers ive delt with very polite and helpfull and gave me a 20% discount and ive never been there before ! the dealer i got my kwack from could learn a thing or 2 from those chaps

I got me CBR from a small Dealer in Beds who is great compared to some of the big supermarket type places,not mentioning any names but sounds like CarHells

hummm ah ha gotcha , i Prefer using smaller outlets as a lot of these big chains forget what customer care is all about and they employ any old tool to work for them , whereas a a small garages treat you with a lot more respect so they will always get my vote

Seriously though I would buy an old one from a breakers (mudguard that is !) and cut that, leaving you with a brand new one to put back on if needed

So whats the best way to trim them down ? stanley blade hack saw ?

haccksaw to get a striaght edge then a small file to remove the teeth marks for the plastic
