Thanks to a new KTM dealer in Northampton (am I allowed to mention the dealer?) for honoring their offer on 0% finance, I'm looking forward to taking delivery on 1st March of a new GT smile

I'll post back with pics in a few weeks!
Just to mention I couldn't get any other dealer anywhere near 0% , this is HP too to not PCP.

Just said goodbye to my 2017 one. 15,000 trouble free miles. Great bikes. Enjoy your new bike. Pics of my old wagon....

I have the original KTM single sided paddock stand for sale if you’re interested?

Wow, 0%hp is quite impressive. It's on the whole KTM range as well, highly tempted to a 790.

Goodness, you'll miss that, fantastic, what is the replacement? Do you not fancy the '19 model? Was it a good ownership experiance?

I'd love the paddock stand please, let me know how much...

Hi mate

Paddock stand retails at about £165 from KTM - it’s obviously used and has a few scuffs but it’s the proper KTM jobby. £50 says it’s yours! I think you can get alternatives cheaper on eBay etc... but the bearings and wheels on the stand are pretty good compared to the Chinese tat available.

I had the GT about 20 months or so. No issues at all and it ran perfectly. I had the remus decat pipe fitted as well as the acropovic end can. It was a loud bike. Nice and deep rumble. Handles as well the 1290 super duke R and tours with ease. Your new one has the impressive TFT dash. You’ll love it....and you can disable the anti wheelie on yours. I replaced it with another KTM. 1290 adventure S. Happy to let you know loads more about the GT. cheers

Argh what a great deal that is. Id have loved to have gone for the 790 as a keeper but my money is tied up for the foreseeable and in probably 18 months away from buying again.

Fantastic bikes. Enjoy OP.

Hello, yes please for the paddock stand, not sure how we do the deal?

I sat on the 1290 adventure, huge, very nice though, with the TFT too. I'll probably have questions after I ride it for a while!

20 months with one bike must be some sort of record for you and it says a lot about just how good the SDGT's are. Nice replacement choice too and it will be good to hear how you get on with it.

Getting back to the SDGT I want to decat mine but I don't really want it to be silly loud. Did you leave the baffles in the Akrapovic?

I removed the rear baffle - it was loud but not anti social. I always wear plugs, so maybe that helped a bit. Everyone that heard it said it sounded great! And yes 20 months is an all time record!
Only reason I changed bikes is itchy feet - the GT is without doubt the best all rounder I’ve ever had. I may well regret not getting the 2019 GT....to be continued!

Regards the paddock stand, my email or personal message doesn’t work on this site, but feel free to email me your number?

Cheers

Once you've made contact I'd suggest taking that email out of your post, there are bots trawling the interwebs for them smile

The 0% deal is on full RRP over 5 years. That’s a long time to keep a bike!

Agreed but the upside is that you will know exactly what the settlement is at any one time. Also I cant see you getting 10 to 15% discount off a 2019 model as that's what the dealer/manufacturer will be paying the finance company to subsidise the finance.

£16,299 is rrrp for a 2019 1290GT. So if you plonked down 10% then that leaves £14,669/60 = £244.48 per month or £2933.80 per year. So if after 2.5 years you want out you will owe £7334. This is 45% of new price. Will it be worth this or more halfway through 2021, for that take a look at early 66 plate 2016 1290GT and see what they are selling for.

Its all about the overall value proposition. 0% is always good but you do always normally pay list to get the low interest.

Unlike a PCP you can bail out at anytime on an HP and 0% is penalty free. Depreciation could be a hurdle here though.

Just my tuppence worth.

It's a good tuppence. 2016 GTs are at £9.5k, so it's good maths too.

It's quite an unusual deal as there's no big deposit required and it's over 60 months, not 24 for example. It could be dangerous, budget well. Also there is no mileage restrictions like on a PCP, but yes, you are paying full list however with this being so new...

Cheers! Had the 1290s for a fortnight now, but she hasn’t turned a wheel. Too cold and too much salt on the roads.

She’s a big ole’ girl.
