I'll be blunt..................I have the horn for one, naked R1 with the crossplane crank engine, I think it may be the do it all bike for me! Especially in grey with yellow rims!

I have a GSXR1000 and a Tiger 1050, I love both but TBH I would prefer 1 bike that's a combination of both. I almost bought a BMW S1000R at the start of 2015 but I couldn't bring myself to sell the GSXR so I pulled out of the deal.

The MT10 might be the one though. I want to know when it's out and how much it costs so if anyone has any info on one please post it here!

I've been reading up on them and can't wait for them to be released and hopefully they will be priced around 10K, and undercut KTM/BMW/Tuouno

But the looks to me are horrendous, looks like a transformer, the colour schemes are terrible, I could put up with the Black/red or Black/blue version. Why aren't they doing the Anniversary version in yellow like the R1!

I hope they are available to test ride or will it be like the R1 and unavailable apon release as all will be sold!

Might be a great bike but I just couldn't look at it when I open the garage door. I didn't think the ugliness of the S1000R could be beat, but Yamaha did it!

And I'm a Yamaha fanboy, I really like the whole MT range including their new SR re-iterations but the MT10: hurl

"Mantis" eyes apparently.

I really like it. I'll be watching the reviews closely.

Maybe they'll bring out an XSR version, speed blocks and all.

Agreed. I was really excited about the MT10. I could even just about get past the looks, but it's worse in the flesh and the detailing is horrid. The radiator reservoir, for example has a bit of black plastic covering it and is forward of the side fairing pods. It's like a 90s streetfightered GSXR1100. The nose fairing looks like something from the Acerbis catalogue.

Very lazily and poorly executed and looks like a crashed R1, parts bin special, rather than a fully resolved naked based on a sports bike.

Regarding the yellow wheels, aside from being genuinely horrid, the paint is not thick enough and the casting can be seen through it. If you are going to go luminous yellow, it needs to be lustrous paint as will draw the eyes, especially when contrasting with primer grey panels.

Not sure if you're planning on doing any distance riding on it but the first thing that struck me at the London show was how damn hard the seat was.

I think it's terrible that the more negativity we have about the looks the more I like it.

It's worth saying again that it's rival is the S1000R which is similarly a total parts bin special with plastic bits stuck on it with funny "eyes".

You, know, the more I look at it, the more I'm thinking that a previous gen big bang converted to flat bars and with most of the panels removed, different tail and rude side exhaust might be the way forward! £6k on the bay of e at the moment.
Even better to find a lightly crashed one.

Seriously??

What is it with Yamaha?? The more st bikes they churn out, the more people lap it up.
Speedblocks? it's like Titty Twisters on a heffalump!
They really are proving the maxim " You can't polish a Turd"
Yamaha however seem to be very good at rolling them in glitter.....

Poppycock Mr.Bass.

The MT range has had strong sales and has been well received despite the cringe worthy "Masters of Torque" moniker. The new Yamaha R1 similarly has been very well received by public and reviewers alike, and if the issue is the MT-10 the detuned naked concept itself could also not be blamed on Yamaha. People like them, and Yamahas certainly seem to sell well.

Lastly, none of us have even ridden the MT-10 yet so we can't say it's a glitter rolled turd!

Balderdash!!

People who love Yamaha are slavish zombie automatons, they know not what they do. if they could wipe the Speedblocks from their eyes they'd see what a steaming chod they really are.
They should do the decent thing and recall every bike they've ever made and issue a global apology for making such tat. And stop it with the Speedblocks already!!, it's like putting Anne Widdecombe in a G-String hurl

Maybe historically, but the MT range and R1 are objectively decent, and with the MT range they're selling to young people who don't have brand loyalty.

We do all know someone who bangs on about the glory days of Yamaha though. Despite the fact they haven't bought one since 1989.
