Ducati friendly insurance for a novice......

You may be better off waiting till the summer for a Duc and getting something smaller for the winter. I got a gpz500 for the winter and although it isn't the most powerful bike in the world, it cost me £800 fully comp. I then got my Speed Triple in the following May. The insurers seem to like you getting a smaller bike and then progressing.
Also, there is more chance dropping it in the winter and that will be expensive on a 749R. If you get a cheap runabout then you shouldn't loose much on it if you sell it in 6 months. The gpz also taught me lots about cornering and using the little power I had better than if I got a sports bike straight away and just learnt how to point and squirt.

I'm really not sure....
I like the bike very much and it's ideal for commuting etc, but I quite fancy the BMW 1200GS or the Tiger - but also, in mad moments, I quite fancy the V-rod.
Really suspect a Tiger or 1200GS, cos the Multistrada is not very comfie on longer runs, although maybe a gel seat would help.
If it goes then so be it, if not I'm more than happy to keep it, just didn't want to buy a gel seat and maybe some panniers, when I could buy therse on a brand new bike.
Indecisive? Moi?
