Is that the name ?? of the charger thingy

Anyway, the duke's got connectors for one and should really be plugged into something as it's not getting out as much (cranking was a bit slow this morning) this time of year

Does anyone know if you can just get the connector, so I can attach my battery charger to it periodically, or is the best bet just to blow another £30 odd on an optimate

Ta

Inco - I supply the bits
see the write up of the attachments on my suppliers site:

the standard opt3 comes with connectors straight to your already fitted socket - and the socket again, so a whole one would be overkill.
here

and barry, why not upgrade to an optimate 8...

What I want is something that'll plug into the socket on the bike that I can then connect to the charger I already have

None of the accessories on your (or the optimate) site have them

Maybe I should design a kickstart

PS discount for PHers ??

I have fitted a socket (discreetly) into the seat unit vents on my Duke so that Optimate can be plugged in in seconds (like a mobile phone) those v-twins take some starting and mine always sounds like it's not going to, but has never let me down (yet). But I think this is because it virtually lives 'on charge'. For the sake of a £30 optimate I'd say go for it.

You wouldn't want to try and bump start it

Mine bumps OK, but then I was brought up on a Guzzi, so I guess everything's easy after one of those

Had to bump the multistrada this morning.

Ticked over fine but wouldn't fire up. Battery is fine cos I use the Optimate every night/wknd.

Dunno why it wouldn't fire up so going to take it back to dealer if it persists.

I need to connect the bike to a charger the only opimat kit I have is attached to the bike

The fag socket has the connector to go onto the optimate not the other end (at least how I understand it)

I may just buy the extension lead, but that says only optimate III or somesuch, and I've no idea what connector mine is

I can tak a piccy if you like

My optimate came with a fag lighter socket end (male) on it, but that was joined to the wiring from the Optimate by an R/C car type connector. Maplins do these kind of connectors - hopefully this is what you need mate.

Cheers,
Steve
