question on dellorto carbs if anyone knows..
Discussion
Bought the wife a tzr other night, but have a wee prob with it..
tick over was a bit low,so I adjusted what I thought was the tickover screw, the rpm changed a little so I went right in and out etc thinking I dont need to remember where it was originally as its only a tick over screw, but I think it was the air mixture thingy, and now the bike revs nice between 3500 to 8500 , but beneath and over that its dodgy/boggy
Is there a set ( ish ) rule for how many screws in from fully open ?
on the carb there is a screw flat facing the side, and another screw entering the carb at 45 degrees..
please help if you can
cheers

One and a half turns out from fully closed is usually a good place to start. Don't do it up really hard to find fully closed! - just turn it till it stops, then back out a turn and a half. There's some useful links about setting up Dellortos on www.ducatimeccanica.com - scroll about two thirds of the way down.
