Have you seen the new gixxer 1000?

Personally I think it's not what I expected...
I red in MCN that it's going to get 150+ bhp which I guess will be something like 150,5.

I've 148,5 on my 2003 and it is all stock except for 520 chain and smaller front sprocket.

In my point of view they could have made a better job and more GP replica...

The exhaust welds are criminally crap in the MCN pictures. My wife could weld better than that! The exhaust looks too bulky as well. Go for the slashed underseat unit like the Honda is running on the Repsol bikes! Very tasty.

Have you seen the size of the bike?????

According to last weeks MCN, the bike is way smaller than current thou, about the same size as 600 or possibly smaller. Lighter than a CBR600RR.

The exhaust is like it is to be a talking point. Looks like they got that right!! Apparantly its got the cat and stuff in that big pipe, thats why its so short.

What ever happened to the underseat pipes that you used to get on the 998? These looked the best on any bike. Nowadays you get these ugly pipes that look, well crap really. take the 999 for example. What the hell is that all about?

Saw the new gixer thou in MCN.

Dont like the layerd fairing and I dont like the tail section.

My favourite part of my bike is the tail section very sleek like an arrow. it just looks bulky on that new bike.

Dont like that masive boxy exhaust either.

New R1 stunning work of art
New Gixxer thou Fugly

Agree with you Pesty. I think the Styling guy was high or something... or just recruited from Harley Davidson

Did they mention anything about the power in the MCN?

High GSXR.

Dont remember the power but remember reading something like 150BHP at the back wheel somewhere.(could be wrong there)

I have seen a picture of it in black and it looks a lot better but Im still not won over. Will ahve to see it in the flesh.

Anyway I like mine too much so i wont be after the new one

I fancy a go on your turbo'd 750 though

My Racing mate who works for a Suzuki dealer in Sweden has been to the Munich show and he did like the new gixxer. It just looked better and better, the more time he spent looking at it
He said it looks a lot better in the reality than .
He tried to find out about the bhp but nobody knew anything at the show. Not even the Suzuki officials... he said.
