I would like to put up my condolences to the friends and family of the rider tragically killed in the Powerbikes on Saturday. I have not named the rider even though "paddock rumours" abound as this is a public forum and some friends/relatives may still as yet be unaware of the tragic events (I may also have been told the wrong name). The incident involved eight bikes at what is one of the fastest and most public areas of the circuit and I can honestly say was one of the worst and most tragic racing incidents I have ever come across. My thoughts are with all the friends/family and other riders involved and I can only offer the small thought that all of us who partake in motorsport (or indeed ride on the road) do it because of a love for it, and when this leads to tragic conclusions even if it is of scant comfort atleast the rider dies taking part in something for which he had a great passion.
