I was up until a week ago, but have had to cry off noe due to "family" commitments and the fact it's LM the following weekend

Maybe Number 4 and I'm working on a new toy so watch this space.....as a clue I'm calling it a ZX79RR+

May go.. but a long trek with no fairing.. could be a laugh though. Any idea what the weather will be like?

I was considering it, but it looks like the weather for the weekend (according to the beeb) is gonna be crap

Riding 500 miles in the rain doesn't appeal that much.

Mel - if your project isn't finished yet: I've got some Acrapovic stuff for ZX7 & 9 if your interested - ZX7 & ZX9(C) downpipes/collector for each + 1 x titanium can + 1 x carbon can mount.

The project is only in it's infancy at the mo but it basically originates from my old ZX7RR Endurance Race Bike (load of top draw race kit on it) now because the Kwaks are no longer desirable on the endurance circuit and the fact that club level superbike racing is actually very small in this country (it's all 600's and Powerbikes) it's worth FA money for whats gone into it. Added to the problem is that it's got a fewdropped valves in the ebgine so needs a rebuild any way. The original idea was to graft in some lights to the loom, drop in a new ZX7R engine (with gearbox and carbs from RR) and road register it as a ZX7RR. However previous experience tells me to get reliable power from a 7 engine you are limited to about 110bhp ish. Having now done the research I'm on the lookout for a ZX9R(C) engine to graft in instead it's a bit more work than putting in a (B) engine (which almost goes straight in) and involves a bit of mount cutting and welding plus the tank needs to be raised about 10mm. The end result should be a ZX7RR race frame and running gear making a reliable 140bhp at the back wheel.

Now after all that and in answer to the question the only bits that may be needed are the Acropovic 9R(C) downpipes as I think the 7 race ones are slightly narrower dia and would be needed to allow the engine to breath more and properly, as for end cans etc I've got too many trick race cans as it is with all sorts of one off and clever internals which I used to have on sponsorship. Price ???? and remember it's got to be good as the gypsy racer syndrome doesn't wear off

headers & collector cost me 350 or so, so as it's another PHer & a good cause - how's a oner sound (as long as you write a build story here)?

Done deal, I'm busy scouring the MCN for a half decent C engine for about £400-£500 but there's been FA for the last 2 weeks maybe next wednesday, then it's a goer on the downpipes.
And yes alright I'll diary what has to be done as I go.

email me with yer contact details when you want the pipes. Don't think we're too far apart (I'm near Croydon) so shouldn't be a PITFA to sort out.

Anyone want to meet somewhere else, on a brighter weekend? (Ted?) possibly London biased? I'd love to go to Chats, but weather is putting me off, sorry!

Carl.
