I've just brought a Pan European which is a standard version without the electric screen. Does anyone know what the wind deflector kit will do for the turbulance for rider and passenger?

I had one in 2002+3 and fitted the deflector kit (I was commuting to Toulouse and back on it thru last winter)

With the deflectors you get less wind on your legs, and also therefore less rain. Well worth the cost to have them.

and the radio is pretty nifty too, if somewhat expensive.

The passengers I took never complained about wind blast, just the fact that the seat is too slippery under hard acceleration

BTW The reason I sold it, is that in a strong crosswind the whole bike acts like a sail and is very very scary as it's almost impossible to get it to stay on track (and I've been in worse on other bikes with no problem).

Is the deflector kit just good for deflection of air from the legs or does it do anything for the upper body?

Just the legs really. I never suffered turbulence on the upper body, I could quite easily ride visor up at 100+

I had the screen on the highest position and the seat on the lowest (even though I'm 6'5"). I wanted to be 'in the bubble' but with the seat height on normal my head was about 1/2 an inch too high..

Don't know if the mirror deflectors might help you in that respect.
