Hi guys, does anyone know of anywhere round London that repairs leathers? I'm not needing major repairs, just wanting a zip changed.

I used "Nine lives" in Guildford 01483 454441, expensive but a good job (I had trousers shortened (is it 'cause I is short and fat ??) and they replaced all the armour etc perfectly)

I'd ask Bennyboy, as I understand he's an expert in such matters...LOL.

Those of you who who Ben will also know that he must by now have an account card with 9 Lives and they are on first name terms.

Although I think he may have upgraded to get the Scrutineers to stitch his leathers back together pre-race nowadays

On a related note, I've been offered a set of RSTs for £50. In general are these any good and who could I get to check them over?

I know you're cautious mate but an independant person to check over some leathers

Most important, check they fit

If the stitching goes after a few months they're still a bargain, and might not even smell too bad when you throw them away

Cheers mate,

I'm only looking for someone else to have a shufty because I don't have a clue, but I do take your point. Since you're first reaction was not, "RST, they're shite," I'm happy enough. Fit was pretty good, just a bit of alteration needed - I too suffer from short fat bloke syndrome

Steve.

Ahh, 9lives. They are excellent. They even do some of the BSB lads leathers. It's top quality work too.

9 Lives = 01483 454441

However, due to the frequency with which I seem to require repairs my last hole was stitched up by one of the scrutineers at Bemsee (bike racing club). I did have to sponsor her for her 10k run though.

There's no need to go to a specialist. I had a full-length zip added to a set of leathers last year at my local dry-cleaners (Caterham, Surrey)for £10. If that's too far, he recommended a place in Selhurst which could do the same

We, and by that i mean the Police, use MW Leathers in Ilford (just off the North Circ).

They are very good, or should i say excellent at their job and repairs are a speciality at a very fair price.
