have got a k2 gixxer 750 with a slip on akrapovik race can and a K&N air filter have been advised to get it re jetted but have been looking on ebay for second hand power commanders does a power commander do the same thing as getting the bike re jetted??

re-jetting is only for bikes with Carbs, yours has fuel injection so you need a Power Commander.
