Well congrats. My Bandit is a bit wider, but theres a definite resemblance there.

You can get good Bandits for £1200 now - cheap as chips mate.

<funny accent>mmmm this sounds verrrry interesting</funny accent>

Wont it cost me a packet to insure a 1200 though? Probably kill myself within the first week too.

But it does sounds very tempting

sorry mate I just read it wrong. Yeah a 600cc would def do the job. The XJ600 is supposed to be 10bhp less than the bandit but I dont know how much of a difference this would make.

I really like the bandit though its a gorgeous bike and there is so many add ons its unbeleaveble.

I am right into the street fighter style, un faired and loud. God I sound like a boy racer!!! aahhhh!!!

Anyways I think i will stick with this one for a couple of months and then spend some cash gettting a bandit.

Heres a picture of mine

It looks rather better now though, all the chrome is polished up, the missing front brake lever has been replaced and the missing frame insert has also been replaced.

Let me know what you think mate

Wow you have done a great job on that Mad Dave. Your right it does look similar to mine.

Is that a single swing arm on it? Looks real sexy. Whats it like to drive mate?

I know this bike looks like a bandit but I dont know why but I really want an actual bandit.

I remember seeing one on eBay for lots of cash that was done up to the hilt. Custom paint job, N.O.S (fk that), single swing arm, bloody gorgeous. However as I said bloody expensive, cant remember the exact figure but it was something like 6K.

Anyways mate well done she is a sweet machine.

haha, yeah nice shot of the garage. Im not sure what Bill plans to grow on that trellis though, I thought most plants required soil and a bit of daylight

It was in a bit of a state when I got it - if you search on here for a thread called "time to accept the inevitable" you'll see Bills original thread advertising it for sale.

Its not got a single sided swingarm, its completely standard apart from: EBC front discs, braided hoses and i polished the kickplates.

It is indeed a 96P plate - no grabrails, and i did wonder why it didnt have a centre-stand as well as a side stand. I wouldnt use it anyway though, even if it had it.

I wouldnt buy a heavily modded bike mate - custom paintjob could potentially be to cover up a prang, plus you may have trouble selling it on - custom bikes are a bit of an acquired taste, so youre limiting the number of people to sell to.

I havent a clue what the bikes like to ride (grrrr!) as i've failed my test twice now!! Got it again soon though, so fingers crossed!! It has been ridden, the MOT tester rode it back for me and said its sweet as a nut. I also start it up once a fortnight and get it nice and warm, just to prevent the fuel gumming up in the jets.

Ill have to take some pics now its completely sorted (well, aside from the scratches in the paint.) and post them up - looks much nicer now.
