KTM are rapidly falling behind. Even the flair of Acosta has been dampened down over last 2 meetings which is a shame as he’s so exciting to watch. Binder is also struggling ,with Miller not even showing the odd flash of competitive speed. All pointing towards the new Michelin tyre incompatibility for the bike this year seems to be possible reason ?
Their senior technical guy has not had his contract renewed…. Predict open wallets being offered to Ducati ataffFourWheelDrift said:
See how fast Bastianini and Vinales jumped to KTM, did they see Acosta and think they can do the same, did they not perhaps look at Moto2 Champ Fernandez or Miller and see the continued struggle. Do they think they are are as good as the new alien or just normal. I don't think it will turn out as expected for them.
I think Bastianini saw a factory ride. Perhaps Aprilia would have been a better option (perhaps it wasn't offered).God knows what Vinales thinks
You never know, they might both gel with the bike.

How is Acosta the new alien? He hasn’t won a race yet, he isn’t fighting at the sharp end currently. He may well turn out to be a new alien, but he’s currently not the new Messiah, just a very naughty boy. John D. said:

If Acosta was on a Ducati he might be doing a bit better. He has often been the best performing KTM.FourWheelDrift said:

Or did Bastianni see Ducati and the series organisers getting a boner over Marquez and jump rather than be pushed?FourWheelDrift said:

Aprilia had to pay the money for Jorge, I'd imagine when it came to Vinales their offer wasn't quite as good as he was hoping since he had now won for them. If we assume that Jorge jumps on the Aprilia and out performs Vinales then his stock goes down. He's got some race wins and that commands a beter paycheck, so I assume KTM offered more and that was that.As for Enea, I will take a stab at he has seen a few Ducati guys move over and that was an easy decision at the time, faces he knows and he's probably had conversations with them to understand the pros/cons outside of any contractual/official conversations.

But he’s not. Seems a bit strange to say if he was on the best bike then he’d be an alien, because he might win on it. When he’s won races and the title then he’s got a case but Mir has won races and a title too and nobody is calling him an alien. LF5335 said:

Pity, he's had the injury for a few months.I doubt it would have filled the grandstands TBH.
I'm interested to see how many people attend over a weekend compared to other circuits, I doubt Silverstone will get 100K people, LeMans was just under 300K over the 3 days which was incredible.
2 rounds at Misano now, back to back.

Suspect the riders and teams would rather have had the weekend off. I doubt it would have filled the grandstands TBH.

I thought last year it was 63k for the race .. or might have been weekend. Yes it chucked it down and we managed to get soaked in a covered stand.
We are going again this year opting for a roving grandstand ticket. We go Thursday, home on monday. The racing is good, why so many people go to see F1 when its poor both in terms of value for money and the racing
