He thought he was getting Marquez...
Ended up with neither.
I still think we may see Marini back at VR46.
Aldeguer to Gresini.

Also Honda have confirmed Aleix Espargaro as their test rider for next year, so he was getting in some good gravel rolling practice at Assen on Saturday in preparation for 2025.
That's actually a decent signing for both parties. Aleix has significant experience developing both the Suzuki and the Aprilia and he gets something to keep him out the house in retirement. I'm also kind of glad Marc has signed for Factory Ducati as otherwise who is going to race Pecco?
Alex Marquez has, to nobody's surprise, signed on again at Gresini. Plenty of TV time over the weekend keeping Binder behind in the sprint on a GP23 and won a couple of sprints last year. A good signing again for both parties, though I'd be surprised if he gets given a factory bike next year.

Rins won't be at Silverstone, Remy Gardner will be riding instead.
Guessing that puts Gardner in a strong position for a Pramac ride next year. I’d like to see the younger riders given more than a year before they’re dumped when Alex Marquez or Miller or the Espargaros etc seem to blag rides

Like Raul Fernandez and his namesake Augusto for example? They have had a bit of time and achieved...not very much. I’d like to see the younger riders given more than a year before they’re dumped when Alex Marquez or Miller or the Espargaros etc seem to blag rides
Alex Marquez won 2 sprint races last year on a year old Ducati and is ahead of Bezzecchi who is getting the factory Aprilia next season.
Pol...hasn't had a ride for a while, and Aleix has hardly blagged a ride...oh, hang on, are you Luke Browne reincarnated?
Gardner got the heave because he was unprofessional in his repeated slagging off the bike. I expect you're going to say it's because he wasn't Spanish.

I have a mate with a place near Valencia and have the opportunity to be there for the GP in November. Is it a good venue for watching?
Yes. It's a stadium circuit so you can see the whole track pretty much from everywhere. More like being at oval racing, only without the stock carsLF5335 said:

Plenty of riders have been around in MotoGP for a while now and done nothing, quite a few of them with factory equipment. I’d just like to see the older riders being dumped before younger riders. Give them a chance, if they can’t cut it then fine, but too many are on the scrap heap too quickly. Digi was one of them until he got that win right at the end of last season, that secured him a ride that wasn’t there until then. Alex Marquez won 2 sprint races last year on a year old Ducati and is ahead of Bezzecchi who is getting the factory Aprilia next season.

You bring this up quite often but when pushed there's little substance and you can never name one younger rider being denied a ride. KTM are pretty brutal with their riders, I thought Iker was a bit hard done by, but in fairness he's hardly set the world alight elsewhere. Augusto has been given that extra chance, but he's back to his typical form.
The teams want the best riders they can get, right now there's no-one outside MotoGP looking likely to be better than Jack, Miguel or Franky for next season. Joe Roberts is being talked up, outside of the patriotic marketing synergy with Trackhouse I don't see what he offers over Miguel (enthusiasm perhaps?). I'm a fan of both MT/MSI riders but I'm not convinced Ai is a better choice for Honda than Taka right now and Sergio probably needs another season. Celeste isn't a replacement for Franky and Jake, Toni and Aaron have never looked to quite have the form to deserve a GP seat over the incumbents. You have to look back to Moto3 and David Alonso to find any rider who stands out against their peers and he needs two seasons in Moto2. (Timing Yamaha!).
These are professional athletes, they have 20+ years to hit their best form and can use that experience to keep them going another decade. I'd rather see the best riders pushing the craft of riding forwards than a churn of fresh faces being discarded before giving their best to make way for the next fresh face.

I’d rather see lecouona and Gardner given a real chance over Miller, Morbidelli Espargaro getting multiple chances. That’s my preference, yours is different. I’d rather see Roberts in MotoGP next season than watch Miller get another factory ride, or Vinales on his 4th factory ride having blown all his previous chances.

Your not surely suggesting any of the 3 you’ve mentioned would be faster than mav , or Jack / Frankie come to that , it was only last season espargaro was at the front , why no mention of Mir , Olivera , Marini Even Acosta who’s being described as a generational talent isn’t winning .
We will see with gardener as he’s on yam to replace rins , so I may have to eat my words .

I’m giving example. I get it that saying Morbidelli isn’t good enough gets a reaction like I’ve just pissed on someone’s mum but I’d rather see a younger rider trying. Acosta is still learning Mir is on a dog of a Homga and has also won a world title but everyone dismissed that for some reason. Maybe Oliver’s has had enough time and he’s not going to cut it. Even Acosta who’s being described as a generational talent isn’t winning .

I don’t expect anyone to come in and start winning so no idea why you e made a comment about Acosta. Some on here would rather see him binned this year than Jack not get a ride next season.

Even if they're seen as just filling seats, they're known quantities who know how to ride a motogp bike. Anyone in WSBK, Moto 2 whatever is usually a punt and if they arent sorted asap they get booted (harsh but that's business).
Then why didn’t they get booted after one year? What’s the difference?Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
