I’ve now been paid for helmets, and received a small payment for not having my bike. The 3rd party insurer were happy to directly provide a bike or car that they cost at about 20% of the daily rate that their partner claim handler charge them if you use them, it really is a crazy system. That would have been no use to me so I have accepted a few hundred quid which will at least cover the insurance and tax etc while they have bike. Let's hope it all gets sorted quickly.In other news, I’ve been riding my multi since the accident but I took my big triumph for a ride yesterday (first time since I bought the Suzuki). Really enjoyed it and so glad I didn’t sell it.

Yep, as you said, it wasn't written off so should be no categorisation.... But now you mention it I'm sure I've heard of it happening sometimes in error so I'll check again in a few months.Genuine question though, this bike is now a cat N I assume? Thread resurrection as I thought it might be worth a quick update now I’m a year into owning the Suzuki.
As a recap, problem one was getting knocked off it on day 2. That was sorted though, and the longer term issue took over….
I had been really struggling with the riding position due to a few injuries resulting in a knee that doesn’t go straight… and doesn’t bend very much. I had fitted lower pegs, but still couldn’t get into a good position and as well as being uncomfortable, because of the lack of movement in my knee I kept digging my toes into the ground which I really didn’t like. Also found the bars are quite narrow and so the steering was odd compared to what I’ve been used too over the last few years. I also had a few months off over the winter after a dirt bike crash and a few more injuries and aggravating a few older ones.
Fast forward to a couple of months ago when I decided to sort the knee out and ended up with some treatment and a steroid injection to try and see me through the summer before having the required surgeries this coming winter, as I want to be recovering during the rubbish weather. The short term stuff has really worked, for the time being at least.
Being able to sit properly on, and move around the bike has absolutely transformed my enjoyment of it. The Suzuki now tours better than my multistrada (one up at least), it’s suddenly steering properly and I’m able to hustle it along. It’s really exciting when I want it to be, and wonderfully smooth and usable when I’m just covering ground. I wanted a bike that could be bonkers without needing to be ridden hard all the time, which is how my last S1000RR had felt. It’s taken a year to get to this point due to a few other issues, but I’m absolutely loving the bike now and am delighted I took a punt on one :-)
