That Lightning McQueen Ducati looks mega smile

We had really high winds over the road at Andalucia in Early March, and they closed the track for the day. I guess it's part of being so high up there, but on the positive, it rarely ever rains, so you guys got unlucky

Yes I will do at my next time out, I would have this time but between the wet sessions early in the weekend and tiredness setting in later on I don't think I'd have made the most of it.
If it's an MSV day come to garages with instructors. I might be working. beer

I did two days at Castle Coombe with Classic Bike Trackdays - I'm an absolute novice but it was a really good environment to get started.

I think I was getting the hang of it; was a bit slower than most on the straights (possible not a bad thing) but was generally pretty decent round the bends. Might have to find myself a pre 2000 bike before I do another one as I was using a borrowed bike.

The aim was to have a go, enjoy it, keep everything the right way up and not break the bike. Happily this was all achieved - plenty to think about if I'm gonna do it again.

Another one bitten by the bug lol..

I was at Castle Combe yesterday afternoon as a group of my friends were booked on, always great to see the older stuff getting a run out.

What were you on?

I was on a very forgiving Gilera Saturno 500 - 45 hp, light and nimble, probably the perfect ride for me to start on.

Leon haslam day at Donington Park, 15th of May all booked.

Hoping to get out on the Race bike if it's built in time, failing that I'll be there on the R1 road bike.

At Snetterton yesterday in the pouring rain for an MSV track day. Was in Inters but things have changed since I last did one, no one seems to ride to the circuit anymore! It was all track bikes or race prepped. I reckon I could count on one hand the number of bikes with number plates!

Anyway, I rode there, did the sessions and rode home. I'm shattered today.

Brands evening Monday 29th April inters/fast group (only two groups other getting novice/slower inters)

Rear tyre was doing best it could. Need to be smooth and only really open her up when it was near upright

Nice bud, had a few rides out with a mate and his Factory with a SC CRT system on it, sounds absolutely incredible, with a bit of luck he takes it to Portimao in Nov and I can have a go on it.

Not been back to Brands since my crash racing with Bemsee in September last year, definitely need to get back though and overcome the fear of doing it again though.

I've got Oulton Park booked on the 28th of May, novice day sessioned with cars also which is interesting (not on track at the same time of course!), will be riding up from Suffolk the day before and riding home after.. not going to be the easiest but am planning to take the bike on a 2000 mile euro trip in July (everyone else will be driving) so need to get some good saddle time in prep for that!

Anyone else booked on for the 28th?

Had four days in Almeria over the May bank holiday.
Weather was perfect,unlike our Easter trip,which was a partial washout!(9 degrees,rain and 45mph winds)
Great trip and everyone in our group set pb’s.
Bought my pics from the track photographer,as they’re excellent quality and decent value.45 euros for over 100 pics.

So I started racing cb500s this year after a few years of doing track days. The standard of riding is so much higher which has really helped bring my own skills on, I still have a lot to learn but loving the progress. First race weekend was at Mallory and I loved every minute

Had a track day at Castle Combe which didn't go to plan. I had a nasty off in the 4th session and got collected up by the bike. Luckily nothing too seriously injured but I'm still suffering with wrist pain so I will be missing my second round. The next race I'll be doing is Brands Hatch in June so really excited to get back at it. Here are some pics from Combe before I got a ride in an ambulance.

How I feel about track days in the UK right now

Namely Brands and Snett. Wont be doing anymore until MSV get their finger out and deal with the local councils

Just booked mallory for July, first day this year and first time ill have done mallory since 2018 when I did my first trackday! Also going to book Donington for August and that will sadly probably be my only 2 days this year.

I bloody love Donington every time I go so really looking forward to that and it'll be interesting to do mallory again as it's been 30 odd trackdays since I did it first time

A boring track related tyre question!

I'm going to take my Tuono V4 1100 Factory on a trackday in a couple of weeks and it needs a new pair of shoes anyway but I'm not sure what I should choose for it...

I used to run slicks and warmers on my zx6r which was a great combo but I sold that and don't have a dedicated track bike any more. Last year I only did a couple of days, one on my old V2 Tuono on a new pair of S22s and one on my ZX7R on some pilot powers which were actually surprisingly good, I didn't use my warmers on either day.
I'd like a tyre that is good for road work as well, I don't ride this bike in the wet unless I get caught out so happy with something in the supercorsa/racetec kinda area. I would go for S23s for the road without a shadow of a doubt but tbh I wasn't impressed with the s22s on track, after 3 or 4 laps at Snetterton on a 20 degree day the grip would just fall off a cliff on the rear and it'd be sliding all over the place and that Tuono had 40-50bhp less than the V4!
I'm happy to use warmers, so thinking a supercorsa SP is the way to go unless I've missed anything from anyone other than Pirelli, Bridgestone or metzeler?

Mid fast group pace.

Birky, if you read this, what do you run on your V4 when you track it?

Ta!

If you're ever racing at Cadwell Park post up in advance and I'll pop up to provide some moral support.

Or even better start a thread about your racing exploits.

I had s23s on my RSV4 for a track day in march this year, I thought they'd be better in the cooler conditions, it was probably 12 degrees or something and they were moving quite a lot in the faster corners despite being warm enough. Had the biggest moment I've had on track on the last corner at Bedford which the electronics saved so I'd avoid pushing on too much if I was riding them again. Usually I run supercorsas with no tyre warmers and have been very happy with them, giving them a couple of laps to warm up.

You'll not go wrong with Supercorsa Pro's, Sc1 front Sc2 rear.

Front Hot: 31 psi

Rear Hot: 27 - 28 psi.
