At our age you'll not be the same version you were 40 years ago, everyone slows down because crashing actually hurts now.

Just moving about hurts now! biggrin

Got a few more pics from way back when.

I look like an explosion in a Twisted Sister factory here ffs. I reckon this was about 1985. I was well into Rush by this time ( still very much am ), so I'll use that as an excuse for this barbers nightmare!

Just remembered, I fell off this on the way home from work one night, knocked a garden wall down and ended up in someone's front garden. No witnesses and miraculously me and the bike were virtually unscathed so I did a flit, and took a different route home after that!

If I'd known this was getting photographed I'd have tried a bit harder, this is just pathetic.......standard pipes on it there, I reckon I might just have got this on the road. It was dead tatty when I got it. I bought it off a lad colloquially known as Dodgy Harry. Turned out it was a ringer and it ended up getting a Q plate before I was able to register it. I'd never even seen a Q plate before, it was quite a novelty in the mid 80s.

I sold it to a lad I knew on the hill who had an RG500. He bought it for his lass, Cath, she was called, can't remember his name. He took this pic of it with the RG after I'd sold him it, in the living room with his RG where they actually kept them when not out on them!

He gave me really good money for it at the time, £750. I sold it because I wanted this, which I gave £900 for. This was in a place called Bedlington which I think BN may have heard of! biggrin My favourite of all I owned. I sold it to a neighbour of my girlfriend in Birtley after a couple of years to buy the F1 I replaced it with. He smashed it up on the bridge on the A1 over the Team Valley two weeks after I sold him it and ended up sadly permanently brain damaged and in a wheelchair. I saw what was left of the bike afterwards, absolutely wrecked.

I've got a few more, but that's all the bikes I had that I've posted up over the last few pages, so I'll leave it there.

Just back from a quick weekend in Ardennes/Luxembourg, which has replaced the Wales for us. What an epic ride, and I just love this bike!

I must have 20 of these photos already

Had that exact bike when I was 17 - 1984!!! Mine had a Micron pipe on it. It'd do 60mph downhill with a following wind smile

Obviously I was going to be operating the throttle and clutch, what could go wrong.

Cheers, BN and I were starting to get worried that people were getting bored with our very specific reminiscing! biggrin

As for getting away with it, I have many stories about that! I've already mentioned the 123 in a 30.
I wasn't getting bored. The CBX pulling a wheelie is a great shot.

It's reminded me that I had some very lucky breaks when it came to my youthful exuberance.

Decent sweepy fun time roads around there Killboy? My little group are looking for a later summer trip somewhere that way ideally.

Also, as I just noticed today on my GT, how's yours at gobbling rear tyres? I put a new Road 6 on before we rode down to Spain for a ten day trip. 3,500 miles later I've got less than a mm before the wear mark frown. My friend blames it on my Track mode!

Yeah, we were lucky with the weather. Diabolical on the British side, and only had about 20 minutes of rain briefly in Germany that side despite the weather forecast looking bad.

Um, I've suddenly noticed the rear has worn substantially. So I may have the same problem, but I don't know house many miles it has on them yet. I've done about 2500
