A picture a day... biker banter (Vol 6)
Discussion
Did this a few days ago to get rid of some surface rust, sanded to bare metal, rust treated, grey stop chip, topcoat, not the most convincing job in the world, but this bike ( my only one at present) is always going to my go to hack.
Wonderful little ride today where we hit the dizzy heights 54mph with my head down and ass up.
Took this out for a test ride today. I've never ridden a cp3 engined bike and all the journalists and influencers like to go on about how it's such a good engine, having owned a 765rs and loving the engine I was expecting the same with more torque but it just felt flat to me. Didn't sound good, has no top end, felt like I was short shifting at the redline, wasn't that powerful and didn't have the torque I was expecting. Coming off third gear corners with part throttle and accelerating the response was so muted even in sport mode. Maybe it's something to do with it not being run in but it wasn't for me. Rest of the bike is nice though quickshifter blipper was excellent. Handles really nicely in flowing roads, looks great. The riding position is more aggressive than it looks because the bars are quite high but quite far forward but nothing too bad. Disappointed but it means I'm not tempted to shell out the £12.5k for it
Changed the standard can, ordered from motorcycle race parts yesterday about three for a cracking price and it's delivered to Scotland in under 24 hours, can't grumble there.
Sounds better, could do with it being a touch louder but I'm not removing the baffle as it'd be ridiculous. Looks much better though, bar the protruding plated socket head bolt.
Whilst fitting it, I've now figured out why my foot sporadically slips off the pegs, I've a leak at the valve cover gasket, to add to my brake fluid leaks front and back. Some

I cant imagine them having the same sort of grunt, character or response as my Triumph 955i triple!
My zx7r hasn't seen the light of day for nearly a year and despite being on an optimal the battery had died so I chucked a new one on and dragged it pit and she fired straight up! I'd been out on the aprilia this morning so I decided to get the transalp out as the three had never been outside together before!
Quite a diverse fleet and I'm not sure what I'd want to add as a 4th 🤔 (I did have a gasgas ec250 as well but the transalp does all the offroad stuff so I got rid of that)
