Having bought a secondhand bike there myself and know a friend that bought a new RE there I'm not surprised in what has happened.

TMF could have got the v4 Streetfighter he wants for that money.

Always get a quote in writing, preferably by someone local so you can keep popping in to keep an eye on progress

Dad is a classic car dealer the number of horror stories we've heard over renovation or customisation, you wonder if anyone ever got what they asked for, at the agreed price and timescale

I feel a bit sorry for him but he was a mug paying so much up front without seeing anything. It set the tone for the whole experience.

£15k is a serious wedge for a nothing special bike. If he somehow ended up with what he wants it will make things better but personally I wouldn’t want to be reminded every time I see it in the garage.

I seem to recall seeing an old fast bikes VHS with Shakey, Frosty and Gaz Mason where Shakey ends up 'parking' a ZX9 I think it was? In the split of a large tree??

The quality of their videos was proper shonky, but they were proper entertaining.
