Then why didn’t they get booted after one year? What’s the difference?
2023: Nobody binned after a year. 2022: Darryn Binder got the RNF Yamaha ride for 1 year, after years as a human cannonball in Moto3. He didn't deserve the ride in the first place, but contractually convenient for the team. Now back in Moto2. Remy Gardener got binned for reasons we discussed earlier.
2021: Iker Leucona gets binned off after two years at Tech3 KTM.
2020: Nobody binned after a year.
Digi got 2022 and most of 2023 Gresini before he found his form after losing his ride. He's fortunate he worked it out in the end.
So the only people binned after a year are Remy Gardner and Darryn Binder, both of whom deserved it.
The fact is there's only so many world champions, only so many race winners, only so many podium finishers and each season that's less than 22. After that there's guys who are either young and improving, or older, experienced and capable of getting results pretty reliably. If you're in Gresini, Pramac or Trackhouse do you sign Jack Miller (race winner) or Joe Roberts (Joe who the past two seasons)? Casting up Maverick's name after Austin is crazy talk, you can't believe Remy has more potential. Iker had two seasons, so I might have thought at the time he deserved more, but perhaps KTM knew better than me sat on my armchair; given his subsequent performances I guess so! Perhaps they're right about Remy (one great season) too.
If you want to watch lots of youngsters getting a chance, Moto3 is your place. The top class is about the best riders in the world, and unlike other classes of racing, it's hard to argue it isn't.
Of course that is just my 2p.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Can’t be arsed, you enjoy watching top riders who have between them have won under 20 races in 1000+ races If you want to watch lots of youngsters getting a chance, Moto3 is your place. Oh and Vinales has had 168 races over the years on factory rides and delivered bugger all from it.

Maverick fails to deliver on his promise most of the time, but that "bugger all" is better than 15 of the other riders on the grid.Oh and Vinales has had 168 races over the years on factory rides and delivered bugger all from it.

I have a mate with a place near Valencia and have the opportunity to be there for the GP in November. Is it a good venue for watching?
Yes. It's a stadium circuit so you can see the whole track pretty much from everywhere. More like being at oval racing, only without the stock carsYazza54 said:
Maverick has put some decent performances in this season but he still blows hot and cold wayyyyyy to much, and ultimately I have zero faith he's ever going to win another championship. I can understand him getting another shot a lot more than miller who has done f
k all for ages now.
He'll never win the title. Teams gamble on him because you know there will be about two weekends a year where he's totally untouchable. Maybe the prize money and sponsor bonuses make him worthwhile. I wouldn't give him a ride though, and if Miller gets something next season it's a joke. ![](/inc/images/censored.gif)
Interesting that Oliveira went well too on the Aprilia. Looks like a strong track for the bike.
Shame Marc is injured with bruised ribs and fractured finger. He's passed fit to race but must be compromised. He's lost some practice laps compared to the others too. Q1 will give him some laps back though!

That was a decent sprint race, hopefully the same or better tomorrow. Amazing overtake from Martin for the lead. Great ride from Oliveira, Marquez did well getting 6th, and another awesome save into Turn 1, but that slide probably cost him 5th place. I’d like to see more of a battle at the sharp end, but this track does provide decent entertainment.
