What it's like to race a Manx Norton in the Lansdown Cup at Brands Hatch.

The lad he's battling with at about 5 minutes is the fella that won the Goodood Revival bike races, beating people like Baywatch Brogan and Jeremy McWilliams (who were on very similar bikes), Troy Corser (on an older BMW) and Wayne Gardner (on a sickly Manx).

Finally found a full length upload in good quality of the Fast Bikes Mach 3 to South of France video.

I bought this at the NEC bike show on VHS and watched it so many times when I was a youngster. Shakey Byrne - where is he now eh

I hum that in my lid as soon as I roll off the train and onto the autoroute...That video inspired me to do the trip and take in the Route Napoleon, we stayed in Cannes and fked about doing (crap) wheelies and burnouts at every opportunity.

On the way home I hit a higher indicated speed on my Busa than id managed at an organised Straightliners event at RAF Woodbridge a few weeks earlier..

Mach 2 and 3 are on a combined DVD, i bought them from Colin Schiller himself at the bike show a few years ago and chatted about the era, top bloke..as you say Pete, Shakey's class showed thru in the end.

Used to be the highlight of the bike show each year back in the day - hitting the FB stand and buying the latest video. I've driven that route in a hot hatch, but never ridden it.

Cool - the Corniche Moyenne a.k.a. the DN7 from Mandelieu to Frejus is frikkin awesome. We've got tons of vids that we should stick up. The road is a bit slow but corner followed by corner every 40 yards makes you giggle.
