Miller’s time has to be up in MotoGP. Younger riders are being thrown on the scrap heap before him and it’s not like he’s going to do much for any team now.
The only team that'll have a punt is honda I think as he's experienced on many different bikes

You can give him a test rider role, rather than waste a race seat on him though.

True.

I think Zarco is doing brilliantly by contrast

I’m guessing that’s sarcasm.

Not really, he's jumped on it and matched and beaten Mir and Marini easily enough. Had lots of bad luck and some falls but if you judge him against his peers he's doing alright, even if the results look crap.

I think Millers best bet is a Honda contract to bank a bit more money before he leaves MotoGP. You never know, they might even build a good bike in 2027.

Agreed!

I have mentioned this before, so I don't want to sound like a stuck record. He is one of the most over hyped riders out there now. The amount of times they mention him on BT Sport is completely un justified, he could be in thirteenth and they'll still talk about him all the race.

They rarely mention Brad Binder who is not only his team mate, but consistently performs better.

Good mates with Crutchlow and probably getting paid to do interviews, similar to Vinales. I recall Crutchlow received about 50K per year from BT Sports for interviews.

Sounds like his options have dwindled even further as for some reason (money) Mir will seemingly stay at Honda for 2 years.

Probably Miller to replace Bautista at Ducati WSBK if Bautista retires at the end of this year.

A pet peeve of mine too. Anyway it appears Mir has signed on for another two years. Honda have a new bike coming and they like his feedback (source: motomatters.com)

So that's HRC tied up.

That's the first I've heard riders being paid by broadcasters to do interviews. I thought they were obliged by their team/sponsor contracts to do a certain number (so effectively getting paid to do them).

I recall Crutchlow saying something along the lines of that he made sure he interviewed well/ was good for a soundbite, in order to appeal to sponsors and increase his worth.

That's funny as I always felt Cal came across quite awkward in interviews!

Yeah I know what you mean. I find his accent/the way he speaks quite weird, like he's spent too long speaking to Japanese/Spanish engineers (same for Miller incidentally). He often seemed quite grumpy and like he was taking the piss too.

It's more that he made sure he always had something to say, therefore people would want to speak to him, and he'd get more air time and exposure, increasing his value.

Miller and Binder are the only native English speakers in MotoGP currently, so that might go some way to explain the exposure Miller gets. Rightly or wrongly.

Praise the Lord for Cal Crutchlow, our last Moto GP winner, if we're talking about awkward, cringe inducing racers talking in Interviews, look no further than Jake Dixon. I can't stand the sound of his voice. When he starts talking about mental health and all that tiresome stuff, he reminds me of a drunk teenage girl.

Agree, he wants all the praise before he achieves anything too. It's important to be confident but I feel he has too high an opinion of himself

I've been fast forwarding over his interviews since BSB.

I'm not knocking him as a rider though. He's done well.
