E36 BMW becoming a classic?

I once owned a 318is with the ‘M Sports’ package, loved the look of the E36 and it used to drive well, if slightly leisurely by today’s modern standards.

I was searching for a 328i Sport, but they mostly are 'drift cars' and unoriginal. I would like to find a good example of a 318is again if unable to source the 328i Sport. Do you think they will appreciate like the E30 over the next few years?

Safe bet to put my money?
