318i 2 dr coupe
Discussion
Guys n gals,
Pretty new to the world of cars, been a bike head for years. Looking to but a nice bm over the next few days. I've narrowed it down to a 318i coupe, would like a black one.
Any suggestions on this model of car?
Any advice?
Anything obvious to avoid?
Anyone got one on here ?
Cheers for any responses
Andy

IMHO dont bother with an early e36 318i.
What you want to do is get yourself a nice 1990/1991 E30 318iS!
Agree that the E30 is probably a better car but if you want the E36 shape then make sure it's a coupe 318iS, the 4 door 318i is a complettly different engine and although not bad in anyway it's not an iS

Yep, that should do very nicely.
Agreed that the e30 is a better car than an early e36 BUT (!) nice, reasonable mileage e30s are very thin on the ground, and people want the earth for them

PS: Apart from straight line performance, the E36 318is is superior in every way to the E30 318is. The E30 looks and feels like the early 80's design it is. The E36 compares well to late 90's designs let alone early 90's.
