Economy oddity

I have an E36 318i not an iS but it consistantly does 35mpg more or less whatever you throw at it.. mate has a 328i coupe of the same vintage and while its mid 30's on a long steady trip its about 20-25 knocking about town. I guess it will depend onwhat you plan to use it for.

Id guess the 328 wouldnt be too bad then My mates does about 33 on a good run and the B road stuff should be ok so long as you arnt caning it.. the 2.8 turns a sensible worthy car into somthing rather fun.... I used to have six cylinder BM's before I became a fuel tightwad and have to say now with the 318 I do feel I have only half a BMW.
