Servicing Lights
Discussion
Hi, hoping you can help.
I had an oil service about 2 months ago at a main dealer - I like to keep the odd main dealer stamp in the book and go to an indy for the bigger stuff.
Since then, the service lights seem to have been going down quicker than usual, and now I am on orange. I reckon to have done around 3500 miles. This seems a bit odd to me.
Is the dealer able to adjust the speed at which the lights go out, trying to get me back in sooner than usual, or is there a problem with the car that I should be looking into. I did leave it rather late to have the oil service - is the car punishing me for my neglect?

Sounds as if your SI board batteries are past there best. If you go to the dealer about this they will try and convince you to buy a new SI Board. However if you go to a good independent they should be able to unsolder the old ones and resolder back in some new ones. They usually will start to go after about 10 - 12 years
