Anyone done this or know of the implications of doing so if any? Is it easy/where do you goto and roughly how much does it cost?

You may not need to do anything, Squire...

Keep your oar in to just beyond 155 in 5th then as 160 shows on the dial, upshift to top.

You can easily see 175-180 but I've yet to venture beyond that; my prediction would be an indicated 185 or just 190 on certain roads in Le Massif Central en France.

Awesome schnellerhorn, hammer down!

Not quite; there was a tape in the glovebox upon which the magical technique was revealed, vocally delivered in glorious, black country twangese.

Where the hell is Adam, btw? Kidnapped by a gang of stray cockneys, perchance?

Some kind of cheerleader, according to Reuters.

Pity she's recruited him to the bossom of a deep south, violent version of the Amish sect.

Fitted a superchip for Brunters about 5 weeks ago, smoother running and toped 168mph at brunters (170ish on the speedo) and managed 175 on the way back from Geneva.

But unless your going to go over the 155 on a regular basis I would'nt say £500 quid is worth the added performance, plus i had to drive to superchips HQ to get it done in Bucks, as they could'nt sus it localy, and if what Direstrictor says is true, then that sounds cool, wish I'd known before.....

edited to say:

Derestrictor, did you find a way to clean the tail pipes? I know metal polish and the Dremel doesn't work

Pvapour - the trick is very much to avoid going to the 155 mark in top - the limiter does gently restrain you shortly after...

It's now such a regular event that it must be right!

Tried some of the boss's metal polish but as you say, to no avail on the (ahem) 'burnt rings;' I think a trick of some nefarious trade is required at this juncture...anyone?

Must say, I'm utterly in love with the thing; so deep chested, such a gutteral bellow above 5000 rpm and a profound sense of very high speed stability.

Not perfect by any means but the best compromise performance car I could imagine.

regular event, please tell me where i want to come and play

Will you be keeping one eye on the latest variant by any chance?

somone told me yeterday (probably winding me up) that soak a ragg in vinegar and wrap it round one of the tail pipes overnite and you'll have a mirror to brush ur hair in come morn. Sarsons I guess

Supplying dealer deristricted my 2001 M5. No cost and it still has BMW warranty cover. Why pay someone else?

Didn't even have to show them the race licence.

Indicated 175mph on Elvington runway.

Nuff said.
