First Impressions.

Fast... faster than the TVR (feels it... probably isnt) Lovely deep sound to the S6, which is just boomy enough at low revs.

Handling needs to be improved if I was to want to compete with the Porsche .... but its a drop top, not a corner monster.

Really chuffed, heated seats rock.. tho the contour of the bucket seats will need to be 'adjusted' for my stocky thighs.. they digging in a tad atm.

Havent had a chance to chuck her around much yet, just chewed motorway most of the day (and fuel! £44 for 240 miles!)

Wind noise is good with the roof down and Deflector on, but rear visibility does suffer with the deflector.

All in tho, v.happy.

Thnx for Advice Chaps.

http://z3m.co.uk for some Pix.

Will sort my plate out and some pix at my gaff soon.

Good on you! Welcome to the club

You can sort that handling out a number of ways:

Get a hardtop roof
Stiffer suspenion
Front and rear strutbraces

After that, it'll handle like it was suppossed to.

If you're in the Midlands bring it out on one of our drives and join some other Ms and Zs.
See the thread earlier on the message board.

In Crewe atm :P but back down tomorrow.

re: Hard Top..

I bought the Z for the Soft Top Loving... I am happy with it, aside from the scandalous tank range, 194 miles from full to light on... NICE :|

Handles great tho, soo much grip, 255 F1s on the rear

The best colour IMO, Estoril? almost bought one of these when new, I think the image thing with the Z3 dissapears a little with the M badge atatched too, anyway congratulations it looks great!

I must admit, 99% of the reason I chose it, was due to it being Estorial, its a beautiful color, much akin to Cobalt Blue

The Car Is nice, Nippy... chuffed I must say.

Will serve its purpose well for the Summer i think.

Wouldnt like to try it in the Snow tho, must admit it isnt a 'predictable' as the TVR was in the wet.

TVR didnt grip, and you knew it, this. grips grips then Snap you have done a 180 :|

Great car - always fancied one of those in that colour.

Were the photo's taken in the underground car park of a large global bank?

Jamie

The car looks great. I am thinking about a new toy and I didn't really think about one of those but I have to admit it looks great and a quick look on Autotrader shows that they are reasonably priced.

Any things I should look out for if I go ahead and have a look at a few?

Cheers

Cheers for that.

I do little mileage in my second cars so I will probably look at a high milage one in view of keeping it for a few years.

Just out of interest what's Vanos?

VANOS is the BMW Variable Valve Timing / Cam Profile system (VTEC in BMWese)

Its known to be an 'issue' on the M3 motors.

FYI, there is a 2001 M Roadster (S54 new style motor) for sale on the BMW forums ATM... guy wants £23k iirc
Estorial like mine.

Hi Jamiebeeston

Really pleased for you. I pick mine up on Thurday afternoon and I really can't wait. It's been brilliant reading this thread....I know I've made the right choice now although mine's black not estoril, so less on how fab the colour is!
