I am selling my old Beemer, I bought it for me a few years ago however since I have had a company car my wife has been using it every day. I was offered one of my old company cars for not a lot and I took them up on it however I need to sell the BMW partly to pay for the new car but more importantly to make room for the new car. (the new car is an Alfa 156 jtd - and I am doing it purely because it does better MPG and my wife has a 50 mile daily commute so these things add up)

I have put it in autotrader for £1900 and had one person phone up who then never turned up on Saturday to look at it. I kind of need the space now as the new car is sitting in the company car park as I can't fit it on my drive as well so I was going to put it in the freeads for £1500. It is an 1991 e34 520ise Auto with the m50 24v engine, it has 99k miles and fsh (about every 7 - 8 k miles being the car my wife uses and being away a lot I am quite keen for it to be very reliable)

Please note I am not touting for someone to buy it here (it is not a particularly pistonheader type car being an auto), what I want to know is if you think I am on a hiding to nothing with the price am I expecting too much or am I pricing it too low and making people think there is something wrong with it, which there most certainly is not. (I paid 4k for it 3 yrs ago when it had 47k miles on it)

Why not contact your local dealer to see if any of there traders would buy it and for how much? also get it cleaned up and drive it round all the little car dealers etc in your area. you might not get the price you want but at least it will be out of the way!

Its tough getting buyers for that type of car.

Realistically, you are looking at getting £900 to £1100 depending on condition.

Its a tough market at the moment.
