Scoobz, dont take it so personally, you only sell 'em not build 'em!

Well done for the pics though. I guess this will be set to rival the new Golf? Looks a similar size/layout.

its a lot better than i thought it would be from the spy shots, and best of all its rwd should easily beat the golf, focus, A3, etc

git... i meant the pics... the full size pics i have here the car looks quite big in relation to the guy driving it...

Greg - we all thought that... with shades of Alfa 146?

Engines : 1.6i (116) 2.0i (120i) 1.8d (118d) and 2.0d (120d)

The 120d is going to be the performance car alledgedly and at 163BHP with 350lbs torque it should be fun. 0-62 in 7.9secs

It is aimed at Golf and A3 type cars. So it will be a similar size. No prices as yet but circa £16000.

3 door will follow.

2 series will be the convertible and coupe version im told... 4 cylinder M Power version also in pipeline

A small front engined RWD. Excellent. Hope this spurs on a few more manufactures too. Only other I can think of is the MX5.

Another uninnovative car for indetermined people that want to be what BMW marketing tells them they are when they buy that car IMHO of course

I applaud the RWD (alfa please take note) but, by gum, doesn`t it ming?

The Autocar road test is very positive about the driving experience though, but does the typical (non-enthusiast) BMW buyer give two hoots?

Given the chose between the 1 series and the A3 and Golf TDi's Id take the BMW.
It doesnt look like its been bangled and the RWD would be interesting in a car like this.
Must be the first RWD small"ish" hatch since the Toyota Starlet of the late 70's/Early 80's.
