E46 LED rear lights.

Anyone know if the newer style LED rear light clusters on the 2003 onwards E46 can be straight swapped for the non LED ones on a 2001 E46?

If so - anywhere I can get 'em other than BMW (£££) - it's just I've swapped my third brake light for a clear one (cos I think it looks better) and it's LED - now I think it looks lonely and I was behind an 04 plate E46 this morning, and even with the lights off the LED's look kinda cool.

they wont be a straight swap, on the e39 you have to put the transformers in the boot as well

What build month is your car? Seem to remember it's a straight swap from 09/01 on but I'll check. About £350 from an independent supplier.

My car is post September 2001 (it's a 51 plate) - the clear third brake light I got is definitely LED.

I tried to log on to that other site - I've already registered, but it won't let me in...says my e-mail address hasn't been verified.
