Are BMW warrenties worth the money?

The car I have just aquired is due on the 2nd March for renewal they want £510.00 that includes emergency cover as well.

From my experience they are worth the money, one of the few warrantees that I would opt for.

I'd say yes - had an engine go on me last year, glad I'd paid the £450 quid it was then for the warranty, cos they ended up putting in a new short engine - thick end of £4k just for the parts....

So I'd say yes.

Welshdragon,

They certainly are. I have had to use BMW extended warranty on an E39 M5 and it was worth every penny.

Just popped into my dealer to check on the progress of my M5. Turns out that they have replaced the entire block and pistons because they failed some sort of compression/leak test.

At present the bill for the parts alone is..
£7500!!!!

When they've added in the cost of labour (it's been there for over a week) it'll me making its way up to the £10K mark.

Moral of the story: IF YOU'RE GOING TO GET AN M5, GET A WARRANTY!!
