the more I see of the 7 series the more I like it, the one to get seems to be the 745,

anyone have any thoughts, prices, etc?

The model to get is the 730d Sport! an ex demo will set you back about £40,000.

er,

personally I hate diesels, plus the 3.0d in a heavy car has to be very weak. It is just about ok in the 3 but the 7???

x5x3,

the 730d is absolutley blistering. the new six speed gearbox and increased brake over the 3 series engine my friend.

it produces ferocious amounts of torque and believe me it flies. next time your in birmingham drop me a line i'll take you for a blast in the oil burning barge...

Correct - I've had a dual carraigeway blast against a 730d and its certainly no slouch!

I guess it will have to be seen to be believed....

I do not like diesels, I am a recent convert from a TVR, so a 3 litre straight six petrol seems rather restricted! As for a clunky oil burner!

I may take you up on your offer next time I'm over there, otherwise I will see what my local dealer has in at my next service (about 3-4 weeks away).
