looking for comments or experience with the IDRIVE in the 530i. I own one and have been told by BMW I must for one put up with clearing a disclaimer screen each and every time I start the car. I can't even go with a clean blank screen unless I accept their disclaimer.

The wife thinks this is obsurd to have to see legal jargin from BMW on a car that cost us 55k every time she drives it.

Just because it cost 55k doesn't mean you shouldnt' have to put any input into the car. I have to clear the oil level indicator on my renault every time i start it. Press a button twice.

Are you in the US? I ask because I know US BMWs have had disclaimers for years, but have never heard of them in Europe.

He is.

Doesn't the E46 satnav ask you to acknowledge a disclaimer every time you start up as well, if you're in the US?

I know that you can upgrade the sat-nav software from US to Europe and back again, but it's v. unsupported by BMW and would probably break stuff, more so in the case of iDrive I guess, sorry!
