Ive been thinking of getting an X5 and i cannot decide over the on to choose, 4.4i of 3.0d? performance or resonable performance & economy?
if any of you out there have a 4.4i, what is an average mpg that you get?
any replies would be greatful,

thanks

I would imagine the 4:4 would struggle to get much more than 20mpg

I Love it ,,, its supprisingly nippy around town and just blasts round to 200kph which is the most i have been able to achive (so far), handleing is ok once you get used to it ...

However on a run observing the speed limits due to traffic it will do resonable mpg (17mpg) considering the size , but in town it is extreme in its thirst 9-10 mpg.

I dont do many miles so this is not such a problem , from what i hear the X5 is a better vehicle in most departments , but my ML was a snip

I've just bought a 4.4i Sport and averaging 17.8 mpg, which is about the same or slightly better than the 3.0i petrol and the performance/ road holding is really good. It will do better on motorway runs and I'm off to Scotland next Wednesday, so will see!

Can't comment on the diesel but it will be much slower.

Brilliant cars - most impressed. Go for it and enjoy!
