Anyone got any 7 series Radiator experience??

Hi Chaps,

My 730i has a problem. - My top rad hose keeps getting blown off and hence overheating and coolant loss occurs.

The nice AA man stuck a new jubilee clip on and has managed to break the top plastic hose mount, so I have just bought a new rad.

I have spent the last couple of hours surfing, and this top hose mount seems to be a bit of a design problem. - even more worrying was that this extra pressure popping the hose off could possibly be a blown head gasket putting pressure in the cooling system?

oh my I really do not need this at this moment in time.

anybody got any words of wisdom? - Also gonna put new rad in tomorrow - is this easy?

I feel your pain: just before christmas I had the top hose mount disintegrate on my 540i. Got a pattern part replacement since I didn't fancy dealer prices on a rad, and the pattern part's the same. Was hoping that stupidity might have been corrected...

Dunno about the pressure thing - hope it isn't a duff head gasket. S6 or V8? (Edit: Ah - V8. Had one of those a few years ago as well. Lovely. Expensive...)

Thanks for the moral.

I have just got the new(pattern from German & Swedish) rad in. Just short of 200 squids, so heaven knows the BM price. - It is seriuosly tight to get the darned thing in!

Lets just hope that is it now and my pressurisation problem does not reappear....going for a drive in it now, lets hope I get back!!
