Hi guys
I know there are a couple of touring owners and people who have experience with the E30 touring. I need your help.

My girlfreind is moving in with me and I am using my car to move her. I have done a few trips already and everything has gone ok, I have even put a 6foot sofabed in my car but the double bed is going to ge a problem. I need to remove the load cover that covers the boot to get her bed in. I cant find my manuals that should tell me how to remove it. I had a nightmare trying to fit it in the first place and now I cant work out hot to remove it.

Thanks

Cotty

Its easy when you know how!!
I struggled for ages over this problem in my old touring (now gone unfortunately)

Put your mits over the load cover, fingers on top

Twist fingers upwards and heel of the hand down, pushing away from you and pulling the top up in other words whilst pulling slightly.

Should pull up and out then.

Dead easy..
Someone had previously tried mine with a hammer.

Is that from the boot looking forward or in the back seat looking toward the rear of the car

If I had suggested that to my girlfreind I would get a slap

Sorry for delay!

As you look into the boot from outside.

Left hand on left hand side, fingers up. Thumbs down
Right hand on right hand side, fingers up. Thumbs down
Push down with base of hand. Like you are twisting it upwards.
Then Yank it out....ooeer.

Cotty,

It's real easy when you know how...really hard when you don't!

You have to apply a little MORE twisting force than you might imagine! I have a 325i Touring...I'll check which way in the morning if you haven't got an answer before then.

I sussed it in the end, I pushed it down on the spring then pulled the top towards myself (looking forward from the boot) then bull back and up. Its a pain in the bum to get both sides releasing.

Cheers
