Ah-ha! Something of a Bruntingthorpe dilemma for the Earl?

No worries: have your man drive one of the chariots and give them both a good thrashing.

Good work my man - keep it up.

no, I'm hoping mid-late march, still waiting on dates, apparently they have a very special vehicle launch and the dates for that havent been confirmed which is mucking things about a bit. Not sure what the car is, I'm guessing maybe Ford GT or Porsche Carrera GT.

By the way, I have been approached with regard to a tv company filming our next little jaunt, would anyone have any objections ?

I can see a few downsides to this. YHM.

I always wondered what my ex XKr cabrio would have done if derestricted , comeing over the Oresund bridge between Sweden and Denmark there is quite an up hill gradient , but top down she would pull like a train up to the 250kph limit in no time and then just bounce off the limiter .

On the autobahn, my 94 e34 M5 will do 180 on the clock in 5th, but only 160 in 6th!

weird, is the limiter only on 6th gear then ?

No, 6th gear is an overdrive as such, and the engine does not have enough torque to pull it through the rev range in top gear.

so what sort of rev's are we doing in 5th at 180mph?

M3Evo 6-speed Getrag box obtains vmax in fifth due to the ratios. 6th gear is 0.83:1 IIRC therefore and overdrive as such.

My limiter didn't seem to work as I acheived 165mph on the OBC by resetting every couple of seconds by the missus.

I found out the reason behind the nominal limiter fitted to most German vehicles capable of such performance; apparently, the limit is set to acheive tyre noise limits. Anyone else got any info on this???

About 7200rpm - I'm guessing the actual speed was 165 or 170max

I'm up for it - assuming I'm not working that weekend - although I won't know that until Friday 19th March knowing the way the system here works.
