Iguana,

Am very tempted....how have you found insurance to be - modified, looking like an M3, having a V8?

Cheers

Wish you'd waited a few months! By then I should be back in regular work with a decent regular income. Come April I'd probably have ripped your arm off for that car.

Damn.

Uptheiron/Paul- Insurance is fair, but obiously none or the normal companies used to run of the mill stuff will touch it.

Adrian Flux are fine & as its a 1993 car & now its 2004 & its technically over 10 yrs old, perhaps some of the classic insurers may take it on, esp if you do limited miles- say 6k pa.

Marshy, sorry mate, need the cash for another toy & can't wait (ps I do think your 540 is a heck of a good little bargain tho, and have you seen the E34 M5 in the classfieds? he is advertising elsewere & has said he is willing to do a deal- could be a steal at circa £4k or so....

XM5ER, dunno what you are moaning at forget the dull car idea for the family- kids fit in the back quite well, & it has a huuuuge boot. Had PH'er Rubystone & his 2 little lads in it a few days back & the lads loved it, kept making brrroooooom noises when they got out

Woo! the first BMW I'm in awe of! What power is it producing? Do you have any 0-60 & 1/4 mile times?

Don't the touring cars have V8s?

Shame it looks like pretty much any other M3!

The BMW Touring cars normally have a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine IIRC.

The GT version of the M3 as raced in the ALMS had a V8 but was then banned.

Cheers for the link XM5ER, sge posted up there now.

Any other BMW forum suggestions that have a classifieds or for sale section? I just can't cope with the trail of halfwits to my door, that an advert in Autotrader will produce just yet.....

Try www.bmwland.co.uk
and
www.bmwcarclubgb.co.uk/indexfiles/mainfram.html
the later costs £5 for a web ad.

To be honest, when I flogged my M5 last year the only place I got a real response from was Autotrader.

Obviously I was unaware of pistonheads at the time
