The drivers side light doesnt come on when i open the door.

By process of elimintaion, i know that:-

The bulb is fine - if i swith the light to on, it works.

The door switch is fine - the electric window switch light goes out when the door is closed.

Any ideas what else it could be?

TIA you are all wonderful ppl!

I own a 1989 325 which behaves just the same. I Thought that I'd solved the problem by changing the switch to a different position - only to find out a week later (it's not my everyday car) that I'd found the permanently on position and flattened the battery. Looking at your other thread, the electric headlight adjustment also doesn't work on my car - so wondering if there is some kind of link.

Of course - none of this helps you - but if you sort out the problem please keep me posted!
