I have the tool to reset the service meters etc, but not to do anything else

Service meter reset tools is a con. Stealers charge you £70 for the priviledge. In actual fact the reset tool is no more than a crude timer which shorts two pins on the connector. You can similate the reset tool by connecting the two pins with a piece of wire and counting to eight for oil and ten for everything.

How they charge for the reset tool is beyond me.

I'd imagine it can be done, if www.vag-com.co.uk and Ross-tech can replicate to a certain extent VAG's 1551/1552 tools.
