My touring is missing these speakers and I was thinking of buying some, I understand you have to purchase special pods to mount them on. Are they any good is it worth it. If not I may just uprate my front speakers with Kenwoods.

I have a pair of Kenwood 6X9 inch three way speakers but there is no where to mount them in the rear

I made a cardboard template of the area behind the grilles above the wheelarches and took this with me when I went to buy speakers. I can't remember what I bought as I got rid of the car 4 years ago but you won't get 6x9's in there. As the aperture of the grilles is a different shape to the speaker I made 'adapters' out of 20mm mdf, secured each speaker to the underside of the mdf and then fixed the mdf from the top screwing through the grille with black headed screws. It looked very neat, but obviously the smaller speakers are a compromise on sound quality. I now have an E36 Touring where the factory mounts for the rear speakers are in the hard plastic roof lining panel which covers the tailgate hinges. Cant remember if there's a similar hard panel in the E30 which you could suitably modify
