The (somewhat flimsy) bonnet release cable on my 95 M3 has come adrift. Does anyone know another way to open the bonnet?

Thanks for the reply,
It appears to have detached from the handle, but when I gave the line a tug using pliers there was no resistance - it seems to have detached under the bonnet.

I've booked the car in for it to be fixed now, but hoped to check the oil in the interim. I'm a new owner and I'm slightly worried about watchin oil consumption. The oil was changed by BMW 3 months ago, any idea when I might need to top up? (96 M3 non-evo driven as gently as feasible for an M3)

Thanks
Ian

You need to be checking the oil every week at a minimum! It doesn't hurt to check, but it will hurt if you don't! BTW my M5 has a low oil warning, not sure if the E36 M3 has one though?

My M5 uses about 1L per 1000 miles, though I do 250 miles a day sometimes.
