E39 M5 Steering wobble
Discussion
Help sought please... After a 2 weeks of my dealer bought approved used 1999 M5 I have noticed that under certain light braking from say 70, and sometimes when not braking I get steering judder, with the wheel visibly wobbling.
At speed its fine, so I cannot think the balancing
Tyres look ok
The discs are huge and I suspect they may be floating discs or whatever, Could this be that the disks are warped (I have not given them an big braking worries and they are fine at all other speeds).
Or as I know from the Tiv days - "do they all do that sir"
Perhaps its a loose rack/suspension components?? 47k miles on the car...
Any thoughts most appreciated
Thanks
Simes

HI Simon,
Likely to be that the disks are slightly warped. Had the same on my M5, and just replaced the disks and pads. The fronts are huge, and they're very very well designed. Cost me £424 from the dealer and fitted them myself. No probs. The reserrvoir is under the drivers side pollen filter in case you need it!
