Tranny specialists?
Discussion
OK, so my 540i has an auto tranny fault. Not too bad, can drive around it mostly, but I do want to get it fixed. I'll skirt around the issue of how I managed to buy a car with a slighly duff tranny.
It's a 1993 E34 car with only just over 100k on the clock. The symptoms are a rough shift from 3rd to 4th when using light throttle. Worse if on a trailing throttle, completely fine with clog on floor.
Everything I've read so far (on t'internet) suggests a replacement/reconditioned valve body could be the answer.
Anyone here got any other suggestions? I'm also seeking recommendations for auto tranny specialists to pester about this one. There's a local one who seem quite good, but they haven't encountered this fault before, so I'm keen to ring round and see if any others *have* and know the cure.
