At £20k it should sell quickly, if your not desperate I'd pop it up at nearer £23k but really it depends on condition and how much you want to get rid

Theres a few on www.autotrader.co.uk from £21k to £27k

Around the £20k mark is realistic. Lot of car for the money, but its a buyers market and nigh on 60k up is pretty leggy for 00V

Edited to add a 'k' after £20...

Fair point but it depends how quick you want to move it on, if you've got a few months start high, if the tax man wants the money yesterday, pitch it in low

I was goung to put up my Nov 98 with 58,000 up fro £19000 expect £18500 so £20,000 is resonable.

They are quite hard to find so poeple may or may not pay more for the right one.

What you getting next ??

Not really in any rush to sell, i'm still thinking about it like I have for weeks now. I have a horrible feeling i'll really regret it. I'm currently looking at s2000's & vx220's(non turbo). Would like to spend more, but i'm changing my bike at the weekend.

15k indeed...disgraceful !

I'd say privately it's worth 21/22k or so, certainly 20k+

Have you tried the S2000 / VX220 ? Was thinking of swapping to similar myself (from M Coupé)..just not sure I want to loose so much power+torque / six pot engine / pedigree etc etc

How could you even think of changing your M Coupe for either of those?????

Test drive a Z4 first! it is a better drive and will not drop like a stone in value!

Your car is worth around 16k in the trade and that will depend on spec and recon costs.

But they are a good seller and i think it should sell for around 18-19k privately! 20k + is too much for a car with the milleage yours has, imagine you where buying it and ask yourself how much of your own money would you pay for it.

Dan, I too am slightly worried about swapping for a less powerful car. The problem with the M coupe is it seems to do everything, hence making it very hard to find an alternative. I test drove the s2000 when they first came out, so that must have been a 99 car. I was not impressed power wise, just because of the 'hi revving' style. I just didn't get a chance to really test it. Same with the handling, so i can't really comment. Overall, I did like the car though, apart from the plastic dash.
I'm going to book a test drive in a VX this week hopefully, so i'll post my thoughts then.

Donut & lotusnobles, I still love my M coupe but I've had it a while & just want something different.
Not sure about the Z4, really looking for something to take to the track, though i'm going to have a look just because I want to see one in the flesh.
I too don't think S2000's or VX's can lose too much. They will obviously lose a certain amount, but they are so cheap new.

If u go for one u want a S2000 with the glass rear screen, 2002 model. Revised suspension, better spec. It was v.close to Boxster in Evo review. I have seen for 20k (1yr old, low miles..so they do drop pretty quickly in value)

As for VX220 - you may have seen on Top Gear but should be able to get new with a very good discount (4.5k they said), or with all the extras thrown in for free (leather, metallic, mats, hard top etc etc).

I have also seen S2 Elises for around 17k. Could be worth looking at Z4 (6 month wait list I gather) but can't see them dropping much in next year or so..
