Window problems - E36 M3
Discussion
My M3 has developed a couple of annoying problems with it's side windows and I'd rather sort them myself if possible.
The passenger side window has stopped working altogether. Over a couple of months, it started working intermittently and now it's completely packed up. When the problems started, there were no odd noises from the motor and when it did work, it worked as normal. Now, when I press the switch, there is a slight noise (presumably a relay), but no movement from the window. It doesn't do the slight drop when the door is opened and closed, either.
Now, I could put up with that till the next service, but now I've got a problem with the drivers side window. It's working fine, but when it gets right to the bottom, it makes a loud "clunk" noise. It's done it three times in a row now, and each time, the noise has got louder, so I haven't used it since for fear of it dropping into the door or something.
Are either of these faults common on E36s? I've used the search facility but couldn't find anything similar.
Any help would be much appreciated.
