I have a E36 1998 M3 if that makes i difference and am having a problem with my on board computer. I keeps saying ' brake light circuit cut - see instruction manual ' I have looked in the manual and can't find anything. All lights seem to be working fine, so i don't know what to do.. It is really annoying when it comes up, is there any way to stop it ???

Thanks

are your brake lights working?
if not your brake light switch needs replacing.
or, sometimes when you start your car it says that, then you tap your brakes and it goes off,
or try reseeting your ecu.

hope that helps

Common problem - see link below - on my car it's the third brake light bulb holder that keeps coming loose - especially over speed bumps.

and I have heard to make sure BMW (OEM) bulbs are used as the slightest difference in voltage can cause this problem.
